Minor White was born in Minneapolis, July 9 1908. White was interested in photography from a young age. his knowledge in photography grew when he learned darkroom techniques during his years at the University of Minnesota. White studies botany and English. Throughout his life he wrote poetry and books, but photography became a major focus in 1938 when he moved to Oregon. During this time he would present his works in a way to create associations between the photos. In 1952 Minor White founded the publication Aperture, and later spent the rest of his life teacher at various colleges. White died in Boston, Ma, June 24, 1976.
